One of the most magical ways to color is scratch art. It is a very simple painting technique that gives very impressive results!

Elpida from blog Two boys & Hope shows us how to make magic scratch art images step-by-step with oil pastels from Maxi Giotto Art Lab Oil Pastel coloring set!

What is scratch art? Basically, drawing on paper by scratching.

How can you do this? Easily!

The coloring set Maxi Giotto Art Lab Oil Pastel contains 48 oil pastels in every shade you can imagine, a block with 30 Canson white sheets, a stencil and tools we can use to color.

To make magical scratch art images we need to color our paper with many different colors. We can choose any colors we want.

Then we get a dark color - blue or black and cover all the colors on top.

And now the magic begins!!! With the special tool we design by scratching the dark paint. This is how the colors are revealed from below!!! You can also use a fork or stick.

Our subject was the sea bottom, so our paper was filled with seaweed, fish and bubbles !!!

Oil pastels cover the paper very easily and quickly. They have bright colors and create incredible magical images. It is a technique that even younger children can do. And that will definitely excite the young artists!!!

Try to make your own magic scratch art images and send us your results.

With the creative book in the Giotto Art Lab set, creation & techniques never end!
