DIY Calendar rainbow with Handlettering

Familives in December issue shows us how to make a 2020 calendar with the Handlettering technique and a rainbow theme. They chose the theme of rainbow as inspiration for each month! Handlettering technique or otherwise calligraphy was chosen as it is a nice technique for decorating cards, posters, bullet journals.

The materials used were:

Daler Rowney Aquafine Watercolor Travelbook Smooth A5 (12sheets)
Lyra Graduate Aquarellcolored pencils 36pcs
Lyra Aqua Brush Duomarkers 36pcs
Ruler
Pencil HB
Eraser

15.1.2020 Handlettering01

First of all, we draw with the pencil 2 straight horizontal lines delineating the design space. At the top, we create the rainbow semicircles that we color with our chosen colors for each month. Painting with Lyra Aqua brush duo markers or Lyra colored pencils aquarelle and wetting with a brush can create a watercolor effect in our design.

To write the name in every month, we can find a nice font that we can imitate making handlettering technique.
